DINOS SIGN TOP OLINEMAN

The University of Calgary Dinos football team offensive line received a big boost late last week. Talented offensive lineman Darius Ciraco has informed Coach Blake Nill that he will enrol in the Haskayne School of Business and play football for the Dinos.

A graduate of the outstanding program at Assumption High School in Burlington, Ontario, which is the same High School current Calgary running back Mercer Timmis attended before he went to prep school in the United States. Ciraco is regarded as one of the elite graduating offensive line prospects in the country.

The 6’4”, 290 lbs. Ciraco also played for the Burlington Stampeders of the Ontario Football Conference. Darius was heavily courted by Guelph, Western and hometown McMaster.

Ciraco’s resume is impressive. He was an all-star at last year’s Canada Cup Tournament and was a member of Canada’s U18 team that played in Texas this past winter. This summer he will be a member of Canada’s U19 Junior National Team that will participate in the World Championships in Kuwait. On Team Canada, Darius will be joined by incoming Dino freshman Joel Van Pelt (Defensive Line, Lethbridge, AB.) and Micah Tietz (Linebacker, Springbank, AB.) along with current Dinos offensive guard Ryan Sceviour.
